Marc Maron's neurosis is contagious.

Not since the Simpsons has a piece of media consumed my time like WTF with Marc Maron. When I found out that Maron was headlining the first Blue Bridge comedy festival here in Victoria I had to reach out and try to score an interview with the comedy legend. As soon as the interview was set, some three weeks before our actual chat. the sweating started...

Jesse Wagner of the Aggrolites - "Bring your dancing shoes."

I did this interview with Jesse Wagner of the California reggae champs, The Aggrolites, in late June of 2012 in preparation for writing a piece on them in the guide for the fifth installment of the Rifflandia festival. I didn't know much about the band going in (A big, big fan now, though) but was onto their fantastic album Rugged Road. The Dyeing Merchants - A friendly drink before the end.

I had never heard of the Dyeing Merchants before my editor at FEEDBACK asked me if  I was into doing an interview with the band to write a piece on them for the newly launched magazine. Unfortunately they will play their last show on April 11, 2013 at the Copper Owl here in Victoria. I'm glad I got the chance to meet them and get to know their music before they called it quits! Enjoy!

Charles Bradley - The Screaming Eagle of Soul

This was the second interview I'd ever conducted. Despite some early complications, we got everything on track and it holds up to this day as one of the most emotional conversations I've had. This interview took place in August, 2011 as Bradley was gathering steam from the release of his debut record, No Time For Dreaming. The only one of my interviews to ever be published in full, it first appeared on the Martlet.
